Bethany O’Bannon Bowman, Director of Operations
Bethany O’Bannon Bowman is the Director of Operations for Education, Public Policy & Consulting (EPPC) Global Management, a unique institution - a non-profit public policy research organization or "think tank", designed to work with Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations to help them become: stronger, more sustainable, and better able to serve their communities. A 1985 graduate of Lee University, she graduated Magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
A former public school teacher, Bethany Bowman taught Middle School English and Reading. Bowman also honed her experience in the corporate world working for Maytag, a company recognized for high ethical values, along with respect of customers and communities. She also worked at Lawhorn and Company helping ministries and organizations achieve their goals and maintain compliance with government rules and regulations. Prior to joining EPPC, she was an employee at the Florida Department of Education working in the Bureau of Educator Certification as the District Liaison for Florida’s alternative certification program.
During her four years at the Florida Department of Education, she helped develop technology for all sixty seven school districts. This included maintaining improving and updating the Bureau of Educator Certification website and designing presentations for state government. She represented the agency with federal, state, and local government units, in the media and with private organizations. In addition, she also provided technical assistance, gathered, and maintained the alternative certification records and statistics for the bureau. She assisted with the research needed to expand the certification program, gathering data and presenting findings to school districts.
Since coming to EPPC, Bethany Bowman has worked to develop and coordinate plans and policies, resources, and mission as well as goals, vision, and expectations of the institution. She prepares and updates plans and priorities, as well as developing EPPC’s budget including fund allocation, revenue collection, budget projection, expenditures, etc. She also provides technical assistance to Faith and Community-based grantees from Ohio who input data on a custom made website developed by EPPC and Spectrum Management. She continues to assist EPPC with research and evaluations by collecting data, building graphs and charts, designing presentations and publications. Bethany Bowman also ensures compliance with contract terms, policies and procedures for EPPC.
Bethany and her husband JC have two children, Jennifer and Julie. They reside in Cleveland, Tennessee.
